Small Cell Lung Cancer
Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive and fast-growing form of lung cancer that originates from neuroendocrine cells in the lungs. It accounts for approximately 10–15% of all lung cancer cases and is strongly associated with cigarette smoking. SCLC is characterized by rapid tumor growth, early metastasis, and high sensitivity to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, despite initial responsiveness to treatment, recurrence is common, and long-term survival rates remain low. Advances in molecular biology, immunotherapy, and targeted treatment strategies are improving understanding of SCLC pathogenesis and opening new avenues for personalized cancer care.
